2 Corinthians 5 Part 2

9Therefore, whether we are at home [on earth away from Him] or away from home [and with Him], we are constantly ambitious and strive earnestly to be pleasing to Him. (Amp) There is nothing that I can think of to say about this verse accept Help me too LORD. I need Your help.

10For we must all appear and be revealed as we are before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive [his pay] according to what he has done in the body, whether good or evil [considering what his purpose and motive have been, and what he has achieved, been busy with, and given himself and his attention to accomplishing]. (Amp) There is a status going around facebook right now that says: “Before you judge my life, my past, or my character… Walk in my shoes, walk the path I have traveled, live my sorrow, my doubts, my fear, my pain, and my laughter!!! Remember, “Judge not least ye be judged.” Everyone has their own story! When you’ve lived my life, then you can judge me!” Jesus has already lived for us. “So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every respect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement and propitiation for the people’s sins. For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].” (Hebrews 3:17-18 Amp) He literally knows us better than we know our own selves. “For the Lord searches all hearts and minds and understands all the wanderings of the thoughts.” (1 Chronicles 28:9 Amp) “And all the assemblies (churches) shall recognize and understand that I am He Who searches minds (the thoughts, feelings, and purposes) and the [inmost] hearts, and I will give to each of you [the reward for what you have done] as your work deserves.” (Revelation 2:23 Amp) But He is not at all fair. He, Jesus, the One Who has never done a single bad or hurtfull thing, took our punishment, ours, the ones who can’t stop destroying one another and everything around us. “For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].” (2 Corinthians 5:21 Amp)

11Therefore, being conscious of fearing the Lord with respect and reverence, we seek to win people over [to persuade them]. (Amp) I am asking LORD that You will help me do this, and that You will help me do this: “[in short] become all things to all men, that I might by all means (at all costs and in any and every way) save some [by winning them to faith in Jesus Christ].” (1 Corinthians 9:22 Amp) This verse embodies how we should tell people about Jesus Christ, not haughtily and holier than thou, for we did not win Jesus Christ, but He gave Himself freely to us, not holding back from any person or any place, but going to anyone, anywhere in Jesus’ love, for Jesus came straight to us right where we are, even out of heaven and into earth, into our minds. “Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!” (Philippians 2:5:8 Amp)

13For if we are beside ourselves [mad, as some say], it is for God and concerns Him; if we are in our right mind, it is for your benefit, For the love of Christ controls and urges and impels us, because we are of the opinion and conviction that [if] One died for all, then all died; And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake. (Amp) Yes LORD! I want to be urged and controlled and impelled by this powerfull, life changing, transfiguring love. “EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest];” (1 Corinthians 14:1 Amp) “This love” being:

I want to be fully filled with this love so that it runs out all over everyone else LORD. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7 Amp) Who is this Spirit? This Spirit is the LORD. How powerfull is He? He is so powerfull that He raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and can raise you up from the dead. “And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11 Amp)

16Consequently, from now on we estimate and regard no one from a [purely] human point of view [in terms of natural standards of value]. [No] even though we once did estimate Christ from a human viewpoint and as a man, yet now [we have such knowledge of Him that] we know Him no longer [in terms of the flesh]. (Amp) We know Jesus in the Spirit. When a husband an wife make love, they are “knowing” each other and being one in body, mind and heart. It isn’t just a physical act, they are doing life together. “But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.” (1 Corinthians 6:17 Amp) We are spiritually making love with God: knowing one another and being one in mind, heart and spirit. We are doing life together. If this causes you to stumble, please disregard it, I pray that God uses it to help in the knowledge of Him.

And out of that love making we are born, one with God, His child. Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 Amp)

18But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him]. It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor). (Amp) “By Word and deed” And God isn’t asking us to do and say on His behalf when He Himself hasn’t already done and said all things in love for us, courting us to become His people. He gave His Word to us, His Word is Jesus Christ His dear one, His Beloved Son. And His Word did what we can never do: satisfied the wrath of God against us, and He did it in love for us. And God gives us the priviledge to hold the name of that Word in our mouth, on our tongue, to experience His feel in us and spread Him to others’ ears. “So we are Christ’s ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ’s personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20 Amp)
